First you should know, the Antigua offers the cheapest CIP for families among all CBI programs. It greatly benefits families seeking second citizenship options. Application procedure and payment steps for Antigua CIP are quite straightforward.

Fee Structure

The actual total costs can be broken down into 4 components:

  1. Donation / contribution to Government fund – USD 100,000 (increases to USD 125,000 for families above 4)
  2. CIP Processing fees – USD 30,000 (upto to four in a family. This increases by $15,000 for each additional dependent.
  3. Due diligence fee – USD 7,500 (spouse and investor)  and USD 2000 to USD 4000 for other family members (above 11 years).
  4. Lawyer fee – USD 5,000 to USD 10,000 (average, varies depending on how many people apply also depends on the lawyer. You can negotiate)
  5. Additional costs: Passport fee: USD 300 per person, interview fee, plus expect courier and bank charges $1500

These are the true costs for the CIP, there are no additional or hidden costs. Based on this we will show you few examples of doing calculating actual costs.

1.Donation

Single applicant

Donation: $100,000
Govt processing – $30,000
DD fees – $7500
Passport – $300
Total – $140,500*

To file the initial application to CIU, you have to pay only DD fee plus 10% of the Govt processing fee plus lawyer fee which is $ 18,000 and the rest $130,000 only after your application is approved by the government.

Family of 4

Assuming you are applying as a family of four people (applicant, spouse and two children (ages less than 11 years)

Donation: $100,000
Govt processing – $30,000
DD fees – $15000
Passport – $1200
Total – $146,200*

To file the initial application to CIU, you have to pay only DD fee plus 10% of the Govt processing fee plus lawyer fee which is $25,500 and the rest only after your application is approved by the government.

UWI Fund (Family x6)

The UWF fund is cheaper than NDF for family applications involving six or more giving you good savings. The calculations for UWF fund is below assuming a family applies (applicant, spouse, 2 children ages less than 12 and two children between 12-17)

Donation – $150,000 (inclusive of processing fee)
DD fee – $27,000
Passport – $1800
Total: $178,800*

2.Real Estate

It is possible to buy real estate for a minimum of $200,000 (shares) or $400,000 titled property. We have good portfolio of properties in Antigua and Barbuda

Real estate – $200,000 (share hotel/villas buyback refundable investment)
Government processing fee – waived
Due diligence fee – waived
Property transfer fee – $15,000

To start the application process which takes 3 months to complete, you only pay DD fee plus agency fee. The rest of investment is done only after letter of approval issued from Government.

Family Member Eligibility

Family applications will be considered to include the following family members;

  • A spouse of the main applicant;
  • A child of the main applicant or his or her spouse who is 0-30 years of age and is financially dependent on the principal applicant;
  • A child of the main applicant or of his/her spouse who is 18 years or older, but who is physically or mentally handicapped and who is living with and is fully supported by the main applicant;
  • A parent or grandparent of the main applicant, or his or her spouse, who is 55 years of age or older and who is financially dependent on the principal applicant;
  • A sibling of the main applicant, or of his or her spouse, if unmarried;
  • A future spouse of the main applicant. (A fee of $50,000 is payable upon application);
  • A future spouse of dependent children where the dependent child is financially dependent on the main applicant; and
  • A future child of a dependent child. (A fee of US$10,000 is to be payable for children under 6 years of age and US$20,000 for children 6-17 years of age).

For the purposes of the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Programme ‘child’ means a biological or legally adopted child of the main applicant, or of the spouse of the main applicant.

It is important to understand the following additional conditions when you file a family application.

  • Children above 30 years of age cannot be added in the citizenship application
  • Grand children can be added to the application. Currently the CIP legislation only allows for the generation of your grand kids to be added.

Due diligence fee

The DD fees is required by government for all family members – spouse, children and parents. Note that no due diligence fee apply for children under 11.

  • Main applicant and Spouse – $7500 each
  • Children (12-17 age) – $2000 per child
  • Children (18-25) –  $4000 per child
  • Parents – $4000 per dependant

Addition of Dependents

If you decide to include family members later for citizenship, the following fees apply

Real Estate

Families can also apply for real estate option. It is important to understand that only CIP approved projects are eligible for citizenship. The full list of projects is available in the CIU government website. The Lawyer fee may also vary on this option depending on the complexity of the real estate project.
