Portugal has made revisions to eligibility of family members for golden visa program. The age of siblings have been reduced to 17 years (from previous 18)
The following categories of family members can apply for golden visa, along with the principal investor. The request for Family Reunification residence permit may be made simultaneously with the request for ARI from the family member/investor,
Spouse
Legally married or defacto couples or same sex accepted
Children
Sons and/or daughters up to 17 years of age or incapacitated children dependent on the couple or one of the spouses; Children up to 17 years of age adopted by the applicant when unmarried, by the applicant or by the spouse, as a result of a decision by the competent authority of the country of origin, provided that the law of that country grants adopted children rights and duties identical to those of natural filiation and that the decision is recognised by Portugal;
Sons and/or daughters over 18 and up to 25 years of age, dependent on the couple or one of the spouses, who are single and studying at an educational establishment in Portugal
Sons and/or daughters over 18 and up to 25 years of age, dependent on the couple or one of the spouses, who are single and studying;
Parents
First-degree ascendants of the person residing in Portugal or their spouse, provided that they are in their care;
Siblings
Brothers and/or sisters up to 17 years of age, provided that they are under the guardianship of the person residing in Portugal, in accordance with a decision issued by the competent authority of the country of origin and provided that this decision is recognized by Portugal.
