Jonathan has a particular interest in Citizenship by Investment and has researched many of the other programs offered in the Caribbean and this has provided him with valuable expertise and knowledge applicable to the new St Lucia program. He also Co- Authored the Corporate Immigration Review Edition 9 on St. Lucia available on request. Jonathan’s law firm has processed 400 CIP applications since St.Lucia launched CBI program in 2015.
Jonathan holds an Honours Law degree from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and completed the legal Practitioners Course for the purposes of becoming an English Solicitor in June of 2002. Between June 2002 and September 2004 he was engaged in a training contract with the London firm of H. Montlake and Company where he gained experience and training in all aspects of the law and in particular Residential Property, Commercial Property, Probate Law, Intellectual Property and Employment Law. Having completed the training contract Jonathan was admitted to the Solicitors Roll of England and Wales on 1st to the bar in St. Lucia in February, 2005.
Jonathan brings a new dimension to the firm in that whereas all the other lawyers at McNamara & Company (and indeed over 99% of the lawyers in St. Lucia) have been trained as Barristers he has qualified as an English Solicitor. Because the profession in St. Lucia is fused he will practice as a Solicitor, Barrister and Notary Royal. His current portfolio at McNamara & Co. also includes overseeing some of the High Court legal action commenced by the firms banking clients, including defending actions, seizure of property debt collection as well as conveyancing.
