The St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) and the Ministry of National Security has provided a notice to authorized agents regarding policies for the processing of “additions” of dependants (spouse, children) of Citizenship by Investment. All applications for addition of dependants for citizens by investment must, first, be submitted to the CIU.
- Siblings, parents do not qualify for dependent addition
- Spouse who place of birth is Iraq, Iran and Russia, Belarus, North Korea or Afghanistan do not qualify.
The new fee structure are as follows..
Spouse
Prior becoming citizen of SKN – Main applicant and spouse must undergo due diligence . The due diligence fees are USD 7,500 each and application fees are USD 250 each. The Government fees to add a spouse are USD 30,000. The approximate processing time for this application is three (3) months
Post Addition of Spouse – Both main applicant and Spouse will both be required to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 each and application fees of USD 250 each. The Government fees to add the spouse will be USD 30,000. The approximate
processing time for this application is three (3) months.
Note: These applications cannot include applicants whose place of birth is Iraq, Iran and Russia, Belarus, North Korea or Afghanistan.
Children
1.A child who was born before becoming citizen of SKN.
The Main Applicant and dependent child (15.5 years and older) will both need to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 each and application fees of USD 250 each. The Citizen by Investment will need to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 with respect to a dependent child (under 15.5 years) and application fees of USD 250 each are to be paid. The Government fees to add the dependant child will be USD
30,000. The approximate processing time for this application is three (3) months.
2.A child who was born after the Main Applicant’s Application was submitted to the CIU, but before the issuance of the Certificate of Registration:
- This application will be processed by the CIU. The application fees for the child will be USD 250 and the Government Fees will be USD 10,000. There will be no additional due diligence fees charged unless the application has been in the CIU for one year or longer. In that case, the Citizen by Investment will need to undergo due diligence again for a fee of USD 7,500.
3.A child who was born after the parent became a Citizen by Investment and under the age of 3 years
The Application will be processed by the CIU. The Citizen by Investment will need to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 and application fee of USD 250 each. The Government fees to add the dependent child will be USD 7,500. The approximate processing time for this application is three (3) months.
4.A child who was born after the parent became and Citizen by Investment and is 3+ years of age:
Child above 15.5 yrs– the application can be processed by the CIU. The Citizen by Investment and dependent child (15.5 years and older) will both need to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 each and application fees of USD 250 each.
Child below 15.5yrs – In the case of dependent children under 15.5 years, the Citizen by Investment will need to undergo due diligence for a fee of USD 7,500 and application fees of USD 250 each are to be paid. The Government fees to add the dependant child will be USD 7,500. The approximate processing time for this application is three (3) months.
Documents Required
Dependent Addition
- Official signed correspondence from the main applicant requesting the application be opened to add the dependant.
- An affidavit of financial support (If dependant is 18+ years of age).
- Six (6) passport photos (at least one must be certified).
- Completed C1 application Form.
- Completed C2 application Form.
- Completed C3 application Form.
- HIV Test Results (must be dated within 3 months of the date of submission for all applicants 12+
years of age) - Police Certificate(s) (must be dated within 6 months of the date of submission).
- Certified Birth Certificate.
- Deed Poll or jurisdictional equivalent (if applicable).
- Certified National ID(s) (must be valid for up to 6 months after the date of submission).
- Certified copies of current passport(s) (must be valid for up to 6 months after the date of submission).
- Certified Marriage Certificate (if the application is for a spouse).
- Certified divorce certificate (previous marriage if applicable).
- Proof of Address (should be dated within 6 months of the date of submission).
- Due diligence fee in the amount of USD$7,500 and application fee of $250 are payable upon submission of application, for the citizen as well as for each dependant that is 15.5 or more years of age.
For the Main Applicant / Citizens by investment:
- Completed C1 Application Form
- Certified copies of current foreign passport(s)
- 12 months Bank statements (demonstrating their ability to make the government fee contribution
on behalf of the addition) (must be dated within 6 months of the date of submission) - Proof of Address (must be dated for 6 months within the date of submission)
- Employment Letter and/or Business License or Incorporation Documents
- Follow up due diligence fee in the amount of USD$7,500 and application fee of $250 are payable upon submission of application.
