Grenada has streamlined the issuing of automated citizenship certificates, boosting the efficiency of the citizenship by investment program by significantly cutting down the waiting times for issuing citizenship certificate.
The Investment Migration Agency (IMA) Grenada has announced the implementation of the new automated Citizenship Certificate. The SR&O for the new automated citizenship certificate was gazetted on March 7, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance CBI certification issuance process by improving accuracy and reducing turnaround time, thus ensuring more efficient experience for all stakeholders.
Key Features of the new Citizenship Certificate process include:
- Automated Citizenship Certificate Generation: The new certificates will be automatically generated through the Agency’s Application Processing Software, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention and minimizing processing delays.
- Faster Processing Time: The integration of automation will drastically cut down on errors and expedite turnaround times by directly linking the software with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- User-Friendly Interface: Local Agents will now have a 48-hour window to verify the accuracy and completeness of the draft citizenship certificate before it is submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for final approval and signature.
The new automated citizenship certificate system will benefit to investors and agents. Digital citizenship certificates eliminate the need for in-person visits, enhances security with easily verifiable information and also lowers operational costs for governments by minimizing paperwork, manual processing, and administrative labor. .
