We get a lot of questions from Russian nationals asking about the eligibility for Golden visa programs. We clarify some information here.
The Portugal golden visa program is open to Russian/Belarusian nationals but on certain conditions. In general, Russians living in Russia cannot apply for Golden Visa/CBI programs due to international sanctions in place.
Exceptions: Russian citizens living abroad (eg. UK, EU, Canada, USA, UAE) with valid residence permit can still apply for Portuguese golden visa. However, opening a bank account in Portugal could be very difficult for Russian nationals, unless they can show proof of EU residency. This situation could change soon.
Currently we are able to offer €500,000 euro Investment fund option for Portugal golden visa. The processing times from filing ARI application to receiving residence permit take 10-12 months.
