When a man marries multiple wives,it is called polygyny, which is unlawful in many countries. It is not possible to apply for golden visas or citizenship by investment in Europe or Caribbean with multiple wives (they must chose one partner). Note Polygyny is banned in all EU member states.

Polygny is currently legal in 58 muslim predominant countries. Depending on the country uptown four wives are allowed. Some countries require consent from the first wife. In India, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore, the governments recognize polygamous marriages, but only for Muslims. In the UAE, muslim expats can sponsor two wives at the same time. The United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand permit some benefits for spouses of polygamous marriages performed abroad.
