The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has temporarily removed the 5 day visit requirements to renew passport under citizenship by investment program due to investors who are unable to travel to Antigua and Barbuda due to travel restrictions. The five day suspension will be effective until Jun 30, 2023
So far, Antigua was the only CBI program in the Caribbean requiring a personal visit for 5 days. The CIP regulations, atleast main investors (children are exempted) are required to physically travel to Antigua and Barbuda to renew their passport which expires after 5 years, as a security measure. This way citizens get an opportunity enjoy to get to know the beauty of the islands. Once the passport is renewed after first time, the second validity is increased to 10 years. The vetting of candidates is undertaken by CIU Antigua and Barbuda under the Citizenship by Investment program. The application process is made efficiently streamlined with 90 day processing times.
This makes the Antigua and Barbuda investor citizenship program more easy, attractive and more accessible to foreign investors. The CIP so far remains the cheapest for families in the Caribbean. Lately, the Government made important amendments to CIP regulations, including expanding the scope of family members and launching of University of West Indies Fund as new investment option..
All passports issued under the CIP can now be renewed through licensed agents or at any Antigua consulates abroad. The consulates will be able to provide passport services, apostille/legalisation, birth and marriage certificates for a fee. After your application is approved of citizenship, Oaths can also be arranged at Antigua consulates worldwide with prior appointment or travel to Antigua & Barbuda to take your oath or affirmation of allegiance. You are entitled to take up full-time residence in Antigua & Barbuda at any time you wish..
