Acquisition of Citizenship by fraud is a major concern in many countries and laws have been enacted to strip or take away citizenship from such individuals who commit fraud by for concealment, misrepresentation or presenting fake documents.

 

Loss of citizenship can result in statelessness unless dual nationals.
